What: It’s the annual Bucs Pride purple game, a game which honors families that have been impacted by cancer. The Buccaneers will take on the East Kentwood Falcons in their first conference contest of the season and are coming into the game having won their last three games and are sporting a 4-1 record. The Falcons however, have struggled this season, entering the contest with a 1-4 record, and have lost their last three. Grand Haven has responded very well after the loss to Spring Lake, having won three straight games. In order to make it four straight, the Bucs will need to continue to play together as a team.

They said it: “The purple game means a lot to our team and we know how much it means to other families and we will play our hearts out,” Senior, guard Malic Love said. “This game will be a great confidence booster for our team if we start off with a good win against a good team.”

Keys to winning: The Buccaneers have been a very dangerous team this season when they are shooting the ball well, shots must fall for the Bucs if they want to win. Also, the big men on the team (Owen Ross, Adam Strom and Jon Elias) must create a presence down low.
