Sideline cheer season recap

WHAT HAPPENED: 

Grand Haven girls fall sideline cheer 2019 started off with change for the girls to get used to. In need of a new head coach, Ashley Borta stepped up to the plate. The girls have had a steady season with Coach Borta, and they’re excited for future plans. 

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN:

Throughout the season the cheer team had multiple showcases for their progress. During the homecoming pep assembly, the cheerleaders displayed a rousing routine to pump up the students. The student section also was led in chants to support our football team during games. 

KEY PLAYERS:

This team was also lucky enough to be filled with leading figures. Junior Hannahmae Evans was a key leader to the team and showed commitment and dedication throughout the season.  

THEY SAID IT:

“Expect the unexpected,” Borta said. “Especially when it comes to fall weather.

WHAT’S NEXT:

The Cheer team hopes to work on new stunts for next year as well as increase game-day atmosphere and cultivate more crowd involvement.
