Sarah Sanders is a senior and first-year staff member. She has played Lacrosse for the past 5 years and is looking forward to her senior year on the team. In addition, Sarah is a dedicated member of both the Interact Club and Student Senate.  Some of her hobbies include reading, biking, writing and painting. Sarah is excited to see what this year on Blade will have in store for her.

Having the live music playing was a good experience for both the Jazz Band and the Swing club. “I love it, it’s awesome it’s a good experience and people hear ya,” Rob Francis, member of the Jazz band, said. “I get a rush playing in front of people and I love it.”

“I just really like dancing, I think it’s fun,” senior Ciana Witherall said. “I also like the live band because we are used to playing music on a track.”

The audience of the show had the opportunity to learn the basic steps of Swing dancing. Noah Merriman is the current president of the club, the Swing Society was started by Brendan Merriman during his senior year 5 years ago. All three of the Merriman brothers- Brendan, Justin and Noah have been in charge of the club.

Saturday, Feb 25th the Buccaneer Original Swing Society and the Jazz Band hosted the “Swingin’ Jazz Thing” event at the Community Center. Last year, the two programs hosted “Spaghetti and Swing” as a way to raise money for the Jazz Band.

TECHNICOLOR THEATER: Senior Ben Lutz strikes a pose as Joseph from "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." Lutz's is the lead in this year's musical. He has previously starred in three musicals and worked as a student director and a techie.
