What Happened This Past Week: The Lady Bucs’ started their week with an away game against the Grandville Bulldogs on Tuesday. Thanks to another strong defensive outing, particularly in the second half, the Lady Bucs were able to leave Grandville with a 47-33 win. Next up for the Bucs were the Fighting Scots of Caledonia. However, another game away from home on Friday saw the Lady Bucs lose in a close battle that ended 42-40 to the Scots. The game was all but tame, and the final seconds included a three-point basket by Alli Keyser to even the game up, as well as a full-court pass down the court for Caledonia’s winning basket.

They Said It: “We think we will do well in the tournaments,” junior Kelly Olthof said. “We have a hard district, but you never know. One night you could be shooting the lights out and the next time you could be cold.”

Next Week in Girls Basketball: Tournament play starts next week and the Lady Bucs have a bye to start out with. They will face the winners of Mona Shores and Grand Rapids Union in the second round of the tournament.
