Bucs defeat Caledonia in close Homecoming game

WHAT HAPPENED
The varsity football team beat Caledonia 34-27 tonight in an intense Homecoming game. The score was tied up 27-27 at the beginning of the fourth quarter, but senior Connor Worthington carried the ball into the end-zone with a few minutes left, securing a win for the Bucs.

 

WHAT IT MEANS

This is the first time the varsity football team beat Caledonia in program history, making this win important for the team.

 

KEY PLAYERS

Senior Austin Broemer rushed for 183 yards. He also scored two touchdowns in the second and third quarters, lining up the score with Caledonia.

Senior Tyler Harp had the key interception in the fourth quarter, gaining possession for the win.

Worthington rushed for 135 yards and scored the winning touchdown, carrying the Bucs past the Scots in the fourth quarter.

“Well I couldn’t do it without the offensive line,” Broemer said. “Running behind those guys, they make it easy. We played together and we all played hard. Go Bucs.”
