Whenever you can find Assistant Principal Brad Cusamano, you know you’re in good hands. His dedication to the school is evident in all that he does, from watching the cafeteria to the new T.E.A.M GH activities, he puts in great effort in his work.

Brad Cusamano is the school’s assistant principal for students with the last names A-F. The former college wrestler can be found monitoring the cafeteria, patrolling the halls, or in the main office.

What was your favorite subject when you were in school?

I love all sciences and physical education.

What is your favorite memory from the building?

My favorite part of my career this year is integrating T.E.A.M. GH.  The party cart, Friday lunch activities and doing other leisure things for students has been really enjoyable. Most of the time we’re dealing with disciplinary issues. It’s nice to do things outside of the job.

What is your favorite school event?

I really enjoy going to the school wrestling matches. I enjoy just watching our students participate in something whether it’s music, orchestra, band or sporting opportunities.

What is a positive change you’ve seen in the building in recent years?

T.E.A.M. GH. Implementing our value system, providing activities like the party cart and other leisure activities.

What was your favorite family memory?

I don’t think I have a specific memory, but I cherish my summers with my children, just spending time with my family. Being in education provides us with some flexibility to do non-traditional travel things, day trips across the state and things like that.

What concerts have you been to?

I went to see The Throwback Millennium Hip Hop tour in 2000, they had lots of artists from my teenage years.

What is a bucket list item that you want to accomplish?

I would like to travel when I retire from my job here.

What’s something that you have done that people would not expect?

Ultra marathons, I’ll run 50 to 100 miles at a time.

What is your favorite Grand Haven/small-town activity?

The beach and the downtown area.

Where would you go to dinner on a Friday night?

Odd Side Ales.

What do you like to do on your weekend?

During the summertime, going to the beach or traveling West Michigan and on the coasts. In the wintertime we go hiking and just go to different places outside of West Michigan.

What is a small business that you like to support?

I like to shop locally, if I want something I can find on Amazon, I’ll go and get it someplace local instead.

What three items would you bring to a deserted island?

A water filtration system, cordage and shoes.

Who is your favorite music artist?

Chris Stapleton.
