BLEACH: From left to right, Chase Layman, Colin Kelly, Thomas MacDonald, Gabriel Hamm, Sam Timmer and Micheal MacDonald pose with their bleached hair.

On Feb. 27 and 28, the boys swim team continued the longstanding tradition of bleaching their hair before they shave it for the conference meet which will take place March 20.

COVID-19 forced them to break into smaller groups while bleaching and like all sports, has impacted their season in many other ways, but captain Thomas MacDonald says it’s still been a great year.

“My favorite part so far was this past Saturday swimming Rockford,” MacDonald said. “That’s always fun and the boys were really excited, it was a good one.”

This win means a lot to the team. Only in the past several years have the Bucs broken their close to 20 year-long losing streak against the Rams.

The Bucs’ next home meet is on March 6 at 12:00 p.m. against East Kentwood.
