Junior Kyle Eveland squares up for a big hit with a Portage Central defender from last year’s clash. He will look to be aggressive once again when the Bucs play them tonight.

What Happened: After a strong road trip last weekend, Grand Haven came out and put on a show Friday night, shooting down the Eagles of Hudsonville 5-2. The Bucs came out guns blazing, being up 2-0 after the first period and added three more to that total in the second. Senior Austin Fox and Junior Trevor Kalis were the leaders once again for the crew with strong performances out of both of them last night. Fox had a hat-trick and an assist, growing his season point total even more and Kalis followed that up by producing three assists of his own.

They Said It: “We have developed a culture that doesn’t allow us to ever give up,” Head coach Keegan Ferris said. “Our three motto’s, if you will, that we have big banners of on our locker room wall are “Join the Fight,” “Compete Like Maniacs,” and “Outwork the Opponent.” The last thing our guys see when they leave the room is join the fight above our door. So I think this mentality has helped us continue to battle for the entire 51 minutes.”

Up Next: The Bucs get right back on the grind with another home contest tonight against Portage Central, starting at 6 p.m.
