Junior Zoe Spoelman fights to secure the pass in heavy traffic.

WHAT HAPPENED:

The girls basketball team lost to East Kentwood with a final score of 54-43 on Saturday, Feb. 27. 

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN:

The loss changes their record to 1-5 in the O-K Red Conference.

KEY PLAYERS:

  • Junior Zoe Spoelman led the team offensively scoring 16 points. She also had 6 blocks.
  • Junior Molly Long had a strong offensive game with 10 points.

THEY SAID IT:

“We had a lot of effort and came out really strong,” Spoelman said. “I was really proud of everyone. Our next game is against Caledonia and we really want to play just like how we played today.”

“We boxed out and got our press break in,” Long said. “We were finally able to get everything going smoothly. We want to bring the same energy when we play Caledonia.”

WHAT’S NEXT:

The Bucs will travel to Caledonia to take on the Fighting Scots on Tuesday, March 2.
